<h1>Halo World Championship: Roadmap and Updated Format </h1>
The details on the next Halo professional season were revealed, including the updated format of Halo World Championship as well as information about the events preceding it.

<h3>Halo World Championship, April 13-15</h3>
This year Halo World Championship will feature an increased number of participating teams – 16 instead of 12. In addition to this, Asia as a region won’t be represented in the tournament due to its lower level of competitiveness in comparison to the other regions. Thus, the tournament’s line up will look as follows:

<li>9 teams from North America</li>
<li>4 teams from Europe and Middle East</li>
<li>2 teams from Australia and New Zealand</li>
<li>1 team from Latin America</li>
</ul>
Halo World Championship will be held in Seattle, the prize pool is set at $1,000,000. The more detailed information about the tournament will be revealed later in the season. In the preparation to the Halo World Championship there will be various online and offline tournaments held in different regions, which will grant their participants qualifier points and slots of HaloWC Finals.
<h3>Online Competition</h3>
Beginning on January 13, teams will be able to participate in online tournaments to earn qualification points based on their placements. Points will be used not only to determine seedings for HaloWC online tournaments and event qualifiers, but also to determine qualification for travel and hotel accommodations.
<h3>Orlando Open, February 16-18</h3>
The tournament will feature a $50,000 prize pool and will be open to competitors from all regions. There will be two stages: Open Bracket and Group Play. In the Open Bracket 96 teams will fight for their chance to qualify for the Group Play – top four teams will advance to the next stage, where they will be joined by 12 teams invited based on their qualification points. The line-up of Group Play will look as follows:

<li>8 teams from North America</li>
<li>2 teams from Europe and Middle East</li>
<li>1 teams from Australia and New Zealand</li>
<li>1 team from Latin America</li>
<li>4 teams from Open Bracket</li>
</ul>

The teams won’t be able to qualify for HaloWC Finals during this event, but they will earn qualification points for placements in their regions. 
<h3>London Finals, February 23-25</h3>
London Finals is an open regional final with double elimination bracket and $25,00 on the line. Top four teams will advance directly to HaloWC Finals.
<h3>Sydney Finals, March 9-11</h3>
Sydney Finals will be available for teams from Australia and New Zealand, who will compete in a double-elimination bracket for their share of a $25,000 prize pool and two slots at HaloWC Finals.
<h3>Mexico City Finals, March 17-18</h3>
Teams from Latin America will compete at Mexico City Finals. The winner of the event will qualify for HaloWC Finals, the prize pool of the tournament is set at $25,000.
<h3>Columbus Finals, March 23-25</h3>
Unlike the other regions, only 16 teams with the highest amount of qualification points will be able to take part in Columbus Finals. They will compete for a $50,000 prize pool and 9 slots at HaloWC Finals. The teams will be divided into four groups. Top two teams from each group will qualify for HaloWC Finals, while the 3rd-placed teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket for the last spot for HaloWC Finals.

<h1>HaloWC 2018 Orlando Open: Preview</h1>	
The first LAN-event of the new Halo competitive season begins just in few hours! This weekend Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida will host a $50,000 event with more than a hundred teams from all over the world.
The competition will be held between February 16th and February 18th and will feature two stages. The first stage is the open double-elimination bracket with 96 teams from all over the world competing in best-of-three and best-of-five series. Top four teams will make it to the next stage – the group stage – where they will face 12 teams invited to this stage based on the amount of qualification points they earned throughout the season. The following teams will participate in the group stage:

HaloWC 2018 Orlando Open: Preview

<h1>HCS EU Super Groups Revealed</h1>
343 Industries have revealed the groups for the upcoming major European Halo event HCS 2022 EU Super with a $100,000 prize pool, which begins already tomorrow, on March 25th. Sixteen teams, among which eight are from open qualifiers, have been seeded into four groups as follows:

<li>Group A: Acend, Method2Madness, NSLM, Your Org Here</li>
<li>Group B: Deonkwovcok III, Natus Vincere, Potential, Rejected</li>
<li>Group C: Flying Dutchman, Quadrant, Team Timmy, Team Twisted</li>
<li>Group D: BLVKHVND EU, Swedish Vikings, The Lads, Vexed Gaming</li>
</ul>
The competition within the groups will follow a round-robin format, with all matches being best-of-five. All teams will qualify for the playoffs – however, the best two teams from each group will advance to its upper bracket, while the others – to the first and second rounds of the lower one. The playoffs will also feature the winners of the Super Open – MatchmakingKids, waarismegeld, Half Grizzled and Team 7.
Halo Championship Series 2022: Europe Super will conclude on March 27th, its four best teams will qualify for the group stage of Kansas City Major. The major will be played offline and feature teams from all regions competing for a $250,000 prize pool.

<h1>Results of HaloWC London Finals 2018</h1>
The second LAN-event of HaloWC 2018 season has concluded with a victory of an UK squad Team Infused, who received $10,000 in prize money and qualified for HaloWC Finals.
HaloWC London Finals 2018 was open to teams and players from Europe and Middle East, the championship took place at Gfinity Arena in London on February 23-25. It featured both 4v4 and FFA competitions. The 4v4 competition featured 32 teams competing for a $25,000 prize pool in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-five and best-of-seven series. Top four teams qualified for Halo World Championship. The FFA tournament featured a single-elimination bracket with 144-player limit and a $5,000 prize pool, with the winner advancing to Halo World Championship.

<h1>Splyce Are the Champions of HaloWC 2018 Orlando Open</h1>
The Grand Finals of the first LAN-event of the current HaloWC professional season featured two North American teams competing for the championship, prize money and qualification points. Splyce came out on top of the best-of-seven series by defeating their opponents from OpTic Gaming with the 4-2 score, receiving $20,000 in prize money and 25,000 qualification points.

Both of the future finalists finished first in their respective groups, thus advancing to the winners bracket. Splyce managed to reach the grand finals through the winners bracket by defeating Oxygen Supremacy (3-0), Team Reciprocity (3-0) and Team EnVyUs (4-1), while OpTic Gaming defeated Str8_Rippin in the quarterfinals but dropped to the losers bracket after being outplayed by Team EnVyUs in the semifinals. In the lower bracket they faced Team Reciprocity (4-0) and avenged Team EnVyUs (4-2). The grand finals concluded with the 4-2 score in favour of Splyce. Splyce Are the Champions of HaloWC 2018 Orlando Open

<h1>Splyce Defeat TOX Gaming to Become Halo World Champions</h1>
The North American squad Splyce managed to defeat the two-time world champions TOX Gaming in the grand finals of Halo World Championship 2018 with the 4-0 score, receiving $500,000 in prize money.
The main event of the season was held on April 13-15 at CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle, United States. It featured 16 best teams from all around the world, who qualified for HaloWC 2018 by acquiring points at different <a href=" /en/news/halo-world-championship-roadmap-and-updated-format">events</a>, which were held throughout the season, including LAN-finals in Orlando, London, Sydney, Mexico City and Columbus. The list of participants consisted of nine North American teams (Splyce, TOX Gaming, Team EnVyUs, Team Reciprocity, Renegades, Elevate, Oxygen Supremacy, Str8 Rippin, Wise Gaming), four teams from Europe and Middle East (Team Infused, Vexed Gaming, Fable Esports, Myztro Gaming), two teams from Australia and New Zealand (Mindfreak, Team Immunity), as well as one team from Latin America – Berserker Esports. 
These teams were seeded into four groups with round-robin format, with only two best teams from each group advancing to the next stage. The playoffs stage was held in a double-elimination format with best-of-seven series. Out of eight teams that managed to qualify for the playoffs only one team was from Europe – Team Infused, the other six slots were secured by North American teams – Splyce and Str8 Rippin advanced from Group A, TOX Gaming and Renegades were the strongest in Group B, Team Reciprocity managed to place first in Group C with the total score of 9-1, while Team EnVyUs and Elevate qualified from Group D. 
Splyce started their run through the playoffs bracket by defeating Team Infused (4-1) and Team EnVyUs (4-2), facing TOX Gaming in the Winners’ Finals, who previously outplayed Elevate (4-1) and Team Reciprocity. Splyce defeated TOX (4-1), knocking them to the lower bracket, where they had to face Team EnVyUs. In a tough fight, with the 4-3 score the two-times world champions TOX managed to defeat nV and advanced to the grand finals, in which they again lost to Splyce, this time not being able to secure even a single map. This victory granted Splyce $500,000 in prize money on top of 2x$20,000 of what they received for placing first at both HaloWC Orlando Open and HaloWC Columbus.

Splyce Defeat TOX Gaming to Become Halo World Champions

<h1>TOX Gaming Wins Halo Championship Series Finals 2018</h1>
This weekend concluded the final event of the 2018 HCS season Halo Championship Series Finals 2018. In the grand finals TOX Gaming defeated Team Reciprocity with the 4-0 score, receiving $120,000 in prize money.
In the playoffs stage TOX Gaming defeated Mentality Esports (3:1) in the quarterfinals and Renegades (3:2) in the semifinals, but lost to Team Reciprocity (3:4) in the Winners Bracket finals. In the lower bracket the North American team faced Renegades once again, this time finishing the series with the 3-1 score in their favour. In the grand finals TOX Gaming avenged their previous loss and managed to win the best-of-seven series without losing a single map. 
The event was held on November 16-18th at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, United States. Overall the tournament featured 73 teams, including ones from the open bracket. They competed for the $300,000 prize pool. Halo Championship Series Finals 2018 was the final HCS event for Halo 5.
